What is gamification and why does it work? How can we use games and puzzles to address current issues as part of the library’s educational activities? Watch the recording of the webinar, which took place on 19 February 2026 as part of our project.
This was the second in a series of four webinars organised as part of the ESC-MISINFO project, in which we focus on developing young people’s information and media literacy using escape room-style games.
During the session, we discussed, amongst other things:
- types of games,
- how people play and how this knowledge can be applied in library work,
- gamification as a method used in education, outreach and promotion,
- escape rooms (their characteristics, variations, advantages and limitations),
- how to prepare and run a game session.
Our expert was Marcin Mitzner – programme director at the Ale Granda creative agency, a trainer and creator of educational games.
Chris Coward was also our guest – expert and researcher at the University of Washington, co-founder of the interdisciplinary Center for an Informed Public.
